Truth be told it's all a bit quiet on the free outdoor event month this weekend and likely to stay that way until Carnival and then September when things pick up again.  One thing we haven't mentioned up till now though is the random scattering of 100 Ping Pong tables across London all of which are free to play.

The Mix Festival takes place in Burgess Park on Saturday and promises to 'bring together emerging artists and young talent from across South London'.  With several music stages, dance tent and kid's fairground it looks well worth a punt.

Far more sedate is the Canary Wharf Jazz Festival beginning on Friday and running till Sunday and promises live jazz outdoors in Canada Square Park where you can also catch free live music every Thursday evening until the end of the month.  Except this week, cos it's the Jazz festival instead.

Finally on Sunday the annual Jerk Chicken Cook Out moves to Brockwell Park in Brixton this year after outgrowing the Horniman Museum.  Expect live music, stalls, and lots of chicken.

That's all for now, check back for updates and for those who've noticed a general aura of flakiness this month, we'll be back to full strength come September.

And with that in mind we best mention some Free London Listings users have been reporting technical difficulties and have had problems uploading events and venues.  We are looking into it.  Pleae bear with us and in the meantime if you have problems send event info to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
